Critique

This implies that America's AI success is independent from the economic effects of Trump's tariffs. The main school idea being that comparative advantages will allow us to be better off, and protectionism will stifle trade that allows the best producers to produce the best, but as with a lot of things, things are not one-sided.

Pressure point

The tariff incident with China showed America has a supply chain weakness in China and Taiwan as well; that's not something that came into existence because of Trumps action, it merely surfaced it - and this has a nice tangent, that free speech censorship is harmful precisely because it represses the oil fire instead of extinguishing it at its source.

Closing turn

If Trump didn't surface it, the next incident that happens with China - and it will happen - will show it all the same.
